After four days, seven concerts, five venues, and a gratifying percentage of seats sold, the German State Philharmonic Orchestra of Rhineland-Palatinate delivers a positive summary of its summer residence in Speyer.

Judith Schor, head of communications and dramatization at “Just under 2000 patrons paid a visit to the city to experience a multi-faceted program of two symphony concerts, two chamber music concerts, a musical reading, and a children’s concert.” the State Philharmonic. “These equates to a twelve percent increase in the number of visitors compared to the previous year.”

The Trinity Church and Memorial Church, respectively, both conducted by Michael Francis, Schor continues, “The concerts masterfully showcased how the designated chief conductor has arrived at the State Philharmonic well before the official assuming office. Another music festival is sure to come
Francis fostered with the orchestra throughout the season, “said Schor. Haydn’s “Farewell” Symphony, the musicians left the stage in costume; sunglasses, flippers, and hats were employed. The audience applauded not only the orchestra’s self-deprecating humor but also the high quality of the musical performance.
Serenades, the musical reading, and the children’s concert to give the festival a wholly personal touch, “emphasizes Schor,” which makes the Speyer Music Festival unique in the region. ”

The next Speyer Music Festival wants to take place from 1 July to 5 July 2020. During the Philharmonic’s 100th season, the works of Jubilarian Ludwig van Beethoven wants to take center stage; artist’s portrait will be dedicated to pianist Joseph Moog.
