Sharing the power of music.
Michael Francis has developed an international reputation for sharing the power of music through his dynamic conducting and engaging speaking. He is Music Director of The Florida Orchestra, Chief Conductor of the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, and Music Director of the Mainly Mozart Festival.
A former double bassist with the London Symphony Orchestra, he came to prominence in January 2007, stepping in for Valery Gergiev and, subsequently, John Adams. He has since worked with orchestras from The Cleveland Orchestra and the LSO to the Berlin Radio Symphony, the NHK Symphony and the Dresden Philharmonic — and is known for the acclaimed podium talks through which he shares the hidden truths in music with audiences worldwide.
